I read this blog http://thoughtcatalog.com/2012/go-get-wasted-tonight-with-your-best-friends/ which all about going out and getting wasted with your best friends. This brought me back to a conversation I had with one of my best friends in which we talked about all the funny things we do when we are together and drunk. This blog talks about giving yourself a night to let go with your friends and not worry about the day to day bullshit that we have (aka work, school, boys, or whatever else is on our mind..in our mid twenties). So I decided to devote this blog to talking about the funny, sometimes stupid, definitely odd, things that my friends and I do when we are (way) under the influence.
1. Drunk dial each other's parents: True story..this first happened on Halloween a couple years ago. My friend and I woke up the next morning and were looking through our phones (as we had a bit of a fuzzy end to the night) and she realizes she drunk dialed...MY DAD...from her cell phone! So from then on out we have tended to this...quite often. My dad gets nervous anytime I go out drinking with her....lets just say he has begun to unplug the phone by his bed.
2. Eat midnight mac and cheese: Now I say midnight mac and cheese because this tradition began in (probably) middle school when alcohol was not involved. Now it is more like 2:30 or 3 AM mac and cheese. The best part is when we go out drinking at home and stay at one of our friends houses...her mom will fill the pot of water, leave out the correct amount of bowls and spoons, put the box of mac and cheese out with the measuring spoons and all. Don't we have it made? Granted we are usually much too loud which results in Mama M coming down in her t-shirt and undies and yelling at us to be quiet (yes this STILL happens and we are almost 25)
3. Drink Boots: We have a classy German Bar back at home that we often congregate in, but I'd like to say that three of us began this tradition one night when we pounded two boots down between us. Lets just say there was much beer pong (yes bars do have beer pong) and dancing to follow that evening. BUT this has been something we do on a regular basis and have even invested in our own boots (sadly enough) so we can do it at home!
4. Play Truth or Dare: I'm totally not lying...this actually has happened, probably more than once. With siblings involved. Don't worry the siblings do not have to do anything gross (get your mind out of the gutters people!). Those smart phones got us with that truth or dare app...and that play dirty option? OH GEEZ!
5. Wine Nights: By wine nights I mean where 7 bottles of red wine are knocked back between three people. Or 4 between 2 people...where you wake up the next morning wanting (or needing) to call into work. Some people STILL have a hard time consuming red wine.
6. Dance: I am not coordinated at all. But get a few (many) drinks in me and I will bust a few moves. Get me in Pontiac (Michigan...ever been there?....check is it out..it's a trip!), at a dance club where I don't see anyone that looks like me, and I will down three double drinks as fast as I can and dance like a maniac and pretend I'm the deejay.
7. Go to Curling Clubs: This only happened once but it was so epic I have to put it in here. I mean, if you meet a nice middle aged couple at a bar around lunch time and they buy you lots of drinks and invite you to go curling with them at their curling club you should go right? Oh by the way...free drinks?
8. Drunk Jenga: This is just pretty fun.
9. Go to Coyote Ugly and drink $1 PBR: Mostly ugly girls shaking it on the bar? Right...it's not that cool but when you get $1 PBR in NYC it's THAT COOL! Best part....trying to find the subway back to the hotel...while drunk. Good thing some of our friends tend to stay more responsible than the others.
10. Going on day long bus pub crawls: SO HARD TO DO. Tests whether or not your body can sustain drinking for that long or if you will be the puker.
11. Manhunting: This is never successful...especially while drunk, but definitely gives some hysterical stories the next day!
12. Brewery Tours: We just never seem to make it past one...especially if it is Lakefront. They always get you with their tour and their (seemingly) neverending beer. But hey...I usually walk out of there stumbling a bit!
13. Happy Hours: You mean to go for just one and an app...or just ONE BLOODY. Next thing you know you're rolling into bed around midnight....one...or maybe even two.
14. Brewer Games: You always go thinking you will have just a few beers the entire game, which usually turns into about 10..which results in going into the game a few innings in, getting more beer in the game, (sometimes) getting kicked out of the game (for reasons we will NOT get into!), and ends with either going out for more festivities or probably not ending up at your own place.
15. C Capping: Truth. My friends and I have C Capped while drunk. Not that I would not do this sober..or haven't done this sober. But believe me, it's much funnier after a few bottles of wine and you C CAP anyone and everyone you could possibly think of.
16. Cutting Your Foot on Glass: This has happened to several of my friends, including me. Went right through my flip flop. And when you're drunk...you bleed...alot. And I hate blood. So of course I call my friend out to help bring me napkins. She comes out patches me up and the bouncer proceeds to tell her she would look BEAUTIFUL with cornrows (she is Asian). We look at him like he is crazy and then he asks if he can paint my toenails sometime. Believe me..we hightailed it inside real quick.
17. Talking to taxi drivers: Telling our life stories to taxi drivers has got to be one of the best things..and asking them where they come from and why they stay in these godforsaken places we travel to...aka PONTIAC, MICHIGAN.
18. Beach Drinking: Hanging by the beach and drinking all day has got to be one of the best summer activities. Except of course you get wasted by 3 PM and have to stumble home and get in the shower so you are presentable for Summerfest.
19. Summerfest: This is just a drunken activity. Has been since you started drinking and probably will be until you are dragging your kids there (although I remember my parents taking full advantage of the beer tent when I was being dragged there).
20. Drinking in Small Towns: Usually great. Never need alot of money. Tend to hit on by SOMEBODY. But tends to result in some ruckus.
I'm sure there is a bunch more things that I am missing/and or leaving out but the point is, it's true you can have a completely let loose night out with your best friends (hey I have them more often then I care to admit...but eh..whose counting anyway)...right?!?!?

So What's Next?
So I started this blog because funny and awkward things happen to me. I fall alot, like really fall alot. Like if you were to drink with me and I fell you might be concerned...but then if you were to spend time with me sober and see me fall out of my desk chair at work, stumble down the stairs leaving my apartment building, and trip trying to unlock my car you would realize that is simply the way I was designed. Even my clients (aka the, mostly, teenagers I work with) understand that clumsiness is part of my nature. One kid told me that his mom asked him for a piggyback ride when there was ice on the ground and he thought about it but then thought again because he didnt want her to "end up like I did when I accepted a piggyback ride when it was raining." What a nerd!
Something very nice happened to me yesterday however. I went to H & M to return a shirt and I had to wait about five to ten minutes for a manager to come to complete the return and the woman checking me out kept apologizing (I really was in no rush..did not care...I was actually in sweat pants and looked NASTY because I had just worked out). Well at the end of the transaction she gave me a gift card for 5 bucks to the store because I had waited. I thought to myself it really does pay to be nice and cordial to people. Respect means alot.
My married (and currently pregnant) friend is (and has been forever) trying to convince me to send in an audition for the Bachelor. We have been watching it religiously for the past three years or so...it began as a joke and then we became hooked. Maybe it did not begin as a joke..but we definitely were not as serious as we are now! Since my ex-boyfriend and I broke up she has been convinced that I would be the perfect candidate (I told her I clearly need hair extensions and a push up bra). I told her that I want to be the Bachelorette..but if any of you watch the shows..you know that you MUST go from the Bachelor to become the Bachelorette. BUT I mean come on to have your pick of 26 guys? haha. I told her I am much to jealous of a human being to be on the Bachelor (I mean...what girl isn't...really??) Also, I'm not sure I can get as crazy and dramatic as these girls on NATIONAL television? Although I definitely know some chicks who probably can ;)
Since my roommate has decided that she would like to live alone come June...I have decided to begin looking for houses. I would like to be more of an adult and not waste money on renting any longer. At this point, I'm not sure if I ican afford this venture, but it might be cheaper in the long run and be a good investment. I'm looking at duplexes in foreclosure. We all know my dad is good at fixing things up and maybe I can get some of his friends to help as well. :) It's been something I've been thinking about and might be a better option than renting due to the insane prices of rent in the city. I really hope this is something I can figure out because I think it will help me move forward in my life and make me feel like a more successful 25 (at that point) (OH GOD THAT'S OLD) year-old.

Being Single in your mid (yikes) 20's
I never thought I would be almost 25 and single when I was a kid..although when I was in a relationship at 19, 20, 21, 22...I was constantly fighting for more freedom. I am a very independent girl that loves her friends and doing her own thing. That being said, I would not be opposed to a relationship, I'm just very picky about who comes my way (I've been burned too many times). So here's a blog on embracing being single this year :)
http://thoughtcatalog.com/2012/5-steps-to-embracing-your-single-self-in-2012/
1. Continue to sleep with your special friend: This would be fine as long as nobody has feelings and/or begins dating someone else without telling you. haha. Otherwise these can be very dangerous situations/and or very good situations depending on the person you are doing it with. For right now I'm going to steer clear of this from my 2011 experience of this.
2. Be all that you can be: YES. I'm trying to be a better friend, better employee, and a better person overall. Someone that makes my dad proud and my friends say "YUP..that girls MY friend." I also would love to run a half marathon...but we'll SEE about that one.
3. Come up with 5 adjectives and make a new friend that embodies each: SHOOT this is hard. LOYAL...any friend that is there for you through the worst of the worst is a friend to keep!, TRUSTWORTHY ...I've trusted some friends I shouldn't of this year and regretted it, FUNNY...anyone thats funny has my attention, SEXY (hopefully this is a new hot male friend I meet ;)), FUN...anyone thats up for a good time is a fun friend to me!
4. Stop Facebook/ creeping, and go do stuff: SO TRUE. Seeing a picture pop up on your FACEBOOK newsfeed of your ex boyfriend and his fiance and their families kind of makes you want to slit your wrists (not for real) But makes you wonder...could that have been me..maybe? Or seeing that the last guy you "hung out" with deleted you from FACEBOOK because his 19 year old girlfriend made him. Or noticing all these friends that are getting married in "OMG LESS THAN 15 DAYS!" Oh goodness even all the baby photos...they're just so damn cute! It's like get off the internet and live life! Stupid smart phones...they'll kill you...for real..like cause cancer.
5. Discover who you are: This is probably the most important thing that I am going to do. Figure out who I am. Love me so someone else can love me too.

THE PACKERS LOST?
I have come to accept that life is never what you plan it to be. But now that it is almost February I have taken this year to put on a happy face.
http://thoughtcatalog.com/2012/how-to-trick-people-into-thinking-youre-not-a-mess/
I was always good at that...till I wasn't. But i'm back and better than ever.
My roommate says she wants to live alone after June. I am a people person so I'm not texcited about this for that reason but also for money reasons. So I am scrambling to figure some things out...but I suppose it could be nice to live alone. Might give me some perspective.
I can't believe the Pack blew it...go watch that Youtube video of that fan crying...its pretty funny.

2012 is Bound to be a Better Year.
This year has taught me alot about life. I successfully made it through a full year at my first "big girl job," I finally moved to my first "real apartment" outside of college apartments, I cut huge ties with an ex boyfriend, I have visited friends in Michigan, D.C., and Denver, and I have leaned on my friends more than I ever have before. Until this year, I tried to do it on my own...i always thought it was easier to just manage things by yourself...or maybe I would lean on my mom or a boyfriend. This year taught me alot about leaning on my friends. My walls are still ridiculously high (only the people that read this blog have climbed those walls) but I know who I can and cannot trust. Though it did come with some broken friendships and opened my eyes to alot of people, I also added some people into my life which is even better! This year also taught me to slow down and really appreciate what matters...which is why I'm all about the changes and resolutions for 2012.
New Years resolutions are hard...especially at our age. But this blog makes it much easier and describes perfectly what we should (nt) be doing in the next year.
http://thoughtcatalog.com/2012/20-new-years-resolutions-for-20-somethings/
1. THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU POST ON FACEBOOK OR TWITTER BEFORE YOU DO IT. God knows we could all benefit from this. Facebook has created so much drama for me in the past three weeks alone...I've thought about deleting it (but know I won't....only because we all get so used to this dumb social networking)
2. Figure out you wanna vote for President AND WHY!
3. Defintely work out/eat better as to avoid any weight gainage.
4. If you really like the person you’re hooking up with and would like them to be your boyfriend/ girlfriend, find a way to tell them, and hope for the best. If you don’t and wouldn’t, stop.
HA...this should probably be my number one goal...seeing as I have a big "kick me" sign on myself. Ive decided to take a break from guys altogether for a while. One..getting hurt sucks. And two...There is no use in forcing yourself to like someone that you don't just so that you are not lonely...I truely believe in the unexpected and that is worth waiting for.
5. Find a way to save approximately 300 dollars and spend it on a flight to see a friend or family member who lives far away.
I do this all the time! But I will definitely keep doing this in 2012...I love my friends and love being able to visit them around the country!
Spend less than or equal to the money you earn each month.
We'll see....
Call someone on the phone at least once a week, and speak to him or her for at least ten minutes.
Replace one terrible reality show you’re currently watching with one wonderful scripted show currently available on television. Swap suggestion: Real Housewives of Anywhere for HBO’s Enlightened.
Cut one person out of your life who you truly do not like and add one person who you truly do. Note: not on Facebook, on Earth.
I think it's important to look around you and realize who is surrounding you because you might miss someone that could be a positive addition in your life. And it is important to cut out the negative people that are bringing you down....BUT deleting people on facebook for stupid reasons is immature!
If you’re still blacking out regularly, you should stop.
ah yeah its about time to grow up and not black out....EVER...we're gettin to that age!
Tell someone who you love that you love them on a more regular basis. To their face, not in a text.
You'll regret it when they're gone if you don't.

Seriously my life is so awkward.
I went to Denver hoping to gain some clarity out of my life and in some ways it did (I'll get to that point)...but in other ways it just confirmed my thought that my life is completely messy and totally awkward.
BOYS
You want to make out with me? Oh you have a girlfriend or are seeing someone or are hanging out with FIVE OTHER PEOPLE? Sounds like something that would happen to me. But "I'm fine if you're fine....ha right?
WORK
You want to blame me, your social worker, for your failed marriage, relationship with your child, and now the potential dead fetus in your fiance's belly?? Ok...I'll try not to take that personally.
FRIENDS
It's your birthday today??? OHHHHH HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! Are you kidding me? Remember when you at my birthday party....IN THE SUMMER? (oh wait none of you made it to my birthday for some reason....) But we are the 11 best friends that anyone has ever had.
First and foremost- I only attract people who have issues. I have no idea why that is. I have never been with someone who is normal or stable. I am also very neurotic myself so my roommate thinks I need someone calm that will balance me out...even the calm people tend to fool you and they are just as messed up as you are. Number two..things are ALWAYS awkward with boys with me. I don't like people and the second I do...something is totally awkward about the situation. I say one thing and do another. I mean one thing but do another. I act one way but mean completely the opposite. I care too much, but say nothing. I act like things do not matter to me...when a glance, a picture, or a simple sentence might mean something much more. In the past two and a half years I have been nothing more than the other girl in every single situation I have been in when it comes to guys. I have no idea why I appear to be that kind of girl (I always thought I was the bring her home to mom type). But apparently people think I'm easy to run over. Which obviously I am. SO- reading this below blog...how to get your shit together at 25 (ish). About relationships- drop the ones that will not matter at the end of the day...probably perfect advice to me. Since I clearly am constantly surrounding myself with people that do not care about me...I should probably be focusing on things that matter more than that. Also..getting myself out of debt. YES. LORD knows Marquette University racked up the student loans to the extreme. Find a hobby...do things that matter. Stop living your life in happy hour. Waking up with a hangover is the worst...we're getting too old for that stuff. Be someone..make something of your life. At the end of the year...I want to be happy with the person I am. I'm not so sure I am at this point. So my goal for next year is to attempt to get to that point.

The trip to Denver made me remember the amazing friends that I have and will have have for the rest of my life.
http://thoughtcatalog.com/2011/make-friends-like-its-the-sandlot-or-stand-by-me/
I love this blog. Make friends like its the Sandlot. Make friends who will tease you when you're new but keep you forever. Make friends who will do anything for adventure. Make friends who are there for you when your parents aren't. Make friends who have emotional baggage...its called NORMALCY. Make friends who will make you stop and realize the beauty in life. Make friends..and keep friends who would die for you. And make friends that would find death with you. I have those friends. My friends are amazing. Anyone that reads this blog is that type of friend...I was blessed with the best friends in the entire world.

Tiny, but Dangerous.
The homeless man that digs through the dumpster behind our apartment calls me "little one." The men that sit by Alterra in which I walk past to get by coffee call me "short stuff."
I get called "kiddo" on a regular basis. My friends have often referred to me as "tiny."
Ever since grade school, I was getting called names such as "shrimp" or "munchkin" due to my height and tiny stature. I was out at the bar with a friend and my dad and this woman bumped into my friend and turned to apologize and saw me and proceeded to make a "oh my she's so little" comment and even made hand gesture's while doing so.
Here's a warning...I would not get in my way. I'm not quite sure many people have actually seen me mad. I would probably say the only person that could honestly say they have seen me ACTUALLY mad is my ex boyfriend. And I bet he would agree with the subject line of this blog. I do not get mad easily but if you do something that pisses me off...watch out. It will not be worth it. I do not hold grudges and can handle most situations and even tend to let boundaries be pushed way further and longer than they should be...but when I get pissed boy do I get PISSED. And you will probably not want to get in my way after you see that I am pissed.
Also my voice does not match my body. I asked my boss to write my a recommendation for grad school yesterday...he rolled his eyes, then jokingly threw it in the garbage can, all while sort of agreeing to write it. I proceeded to tell him I'm sure he has plenty of positive things to say about me..but to please leave out the fact that I tend to be overly sarcastic. He then told me that I should not tell him to lie and also not to tell him what to do (mind you he is also overly sarcastic). Point of the story is...I originally started grad school last year for counseling so today I decided he seemed to be in a negative mood and I asked him if he wanted to talk about it...which turned into me loudly telling him to start thinking more positive. Thus him telling me it was a good thing I quit counseling because I would make a terrible therapist. I want my coworkers to remember the tiny...but dangerous part too sometimes. :) Although he's probably right on the whole making a terrible therapist front.
I have always said I need to marry someone who is over 6 feet tall so my kids have a chance to have some height on them. It probably will not happen though because I'm sure I'm destined to marry someone who is like 5'7" or something and besides...tall guys never like short girls forever. That's a fact. But a girl can dream..right?
Anyways point being....don't think that I'm easy to run over just because I'm short...I can be terrifying so remember that.
